Its been almost a week. ok ive exams and im doing this in my down time but still.

Ok the thinking behind this. Space is 3d and there is no down. so i tried to design something which took full advantage of this .

built around a center which has "normal" gravity and contains, recreation, medcenter, mess halls and c&c.

the outer hull is in zero g and contains hangers armouries and machine shops.

comments please.

Wow! This is one of your best-looking ships so far! Is the central gravity provided by some kind of gravity projectors etc., or by centrifugal forces (like rotating toruses etc.)?

Some knind of artifical gravity but not centrifugal forces so that internal space is maximised.

But you could rotate the whole center-part and build on its inner surface. It would be a bit like O'Neill cylinder, with (probably) multiple layers of inner surfaces (or "floors") and with the hangars and engines etc. built around the cylinder itself... Or if your drive technology is advanced enough, you could build your ships like skyscrapers, with gravity provided by constant acceleration.

constant accel is fine if your not a warship. and this vessel is realy to small to use the oneil cylinder system. building it like a vary large submarine would be better.

other than giving something of a colour sceam its got no use realy. it just makes a sheet of metal look more interesting
